The big-print "shoulders" fabric was part of the Boardwalk starter kit of fabrics that I bought when I ordered the pattern and templates. I was a little wary of its hugeness, not to mention its busy-ness, but I went ahead and chose read-solid fabrics for the other elements and ended up being pretty well pleased with how it turned out. The center square, which isn't very clear (needs another good pressing) is tiny pink triangles on white. So, with Eight done, I moved on to Nine.
I had a few doubts when I began Nine (oh, dear, this is turning into a pattern!). I'd never have chosen the leopard, but it was also part of that starter pack. The foxes were from my stash and I guess I thought foxes and leopards would mix? I like how it turned out, though; I only wish I'd alternated the leopards and the blues the other way so that we wouldn't have blue next to blue. Live and learn.
Now 9/25 complete! And the remaining blocks are all cut and marked!
